Blackmagic Design has announced the availability of Blackmagic Camera 4.0 Public Beta. This public beta lets customers install and test Blackmagics major new camera operating system and user interface for URSA Mini. Blackmagic Camera 4.0 Public Beta is available for download free of charge from the Blackmagic Design website for all Blackmagic URSA Mini customers.

Blackmagic Design has announced that Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K and the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera have commenced shipping and that the specifications of the two cameras have been changed. Blackmagic Design have decided to ship both of the cameras without the global shutter feature.

At IBC 2015 Blackmagic Design introduced the Blackmagic URSA Mini B4 Mount which is a B4 lens mount modification for its new Blackmagic URSA Mini PL camera that lets it use broadcast HD lenses. Since URSA Minis launch at NAB, feedback from broadcasters has been overwhelmingly positive, and now they will also be able to use their existing high definition B4 broadcast lenses with Blackmagic URSA Mini.

Blackmagic Design have announced that Brazil based production and post house O2 Filmes shot a commercial airing across Brazil for McDonalds with Blackmagic URSA EF and Blackmagic Production Camera 4K. The spot was also the first project by O2 Filmes that was edited and graded entirely in DaVinci Resolve 12.

The agenda has now been set for the Eighth Annual Amsterdam SuperMeet, to take place during IBC2015 on Sunday, 13 September at the Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam.
