To enter the International dedolight Compeition produce a video, suggested length 5 – 10 minutes, demonstrating your lighting abilities, with an explanation of how you achieved the result.
Many of the winning videos, including some of the ones that don’t win, may become part of the dedolight series of lighting tutorials.
Copyright remains at all times with the creator of the video entry and this can be published by the creator, however, by entering the competition, you agree to allow dedolight to publish the video as part of the dedolight series of lighting tutorials. This will always be done, showing the creator as the author of the individual video.
Over 30 prizes will be given away (motivated by the 30th anniversary of dedolight). The total value of the prizes is approximately Euro 100,000.

Who can participate
Anyone can enter the competition, including:
Seasoned and experienced directors of photography, lighting cameramen, gaffers, photographers, students, any newcomer no limitations.
Those who work individually or within a group.
Entries can be submitted from a department of a media or film school; or teachers who want to make the creation of video entriespart of their regular curriculum
Each entry will be considered for a prize, regardless of whether the entry is from one author or a group.

dedolight will temporarily supply (through the responsible agent or distributor) a lighting kit for your work.
With your distributor / dealer you will have to arrange a date and duration, when you want to shoot the competition video and how many days you will need the lighting kit. You also have to arrange shipment details and security. It will be left to the discretion of the dedolight distributor or agent to make such arrangements, also if there are any reasons to decline the cooperation.

How to Upload your video entries
Please upload your video on YouTube, Vimeo or any other platform and send the link to your countrys agent/distributor, and at the same time to Dedo Weigert Film in Munich within the Competition period.
